I’m a Financial Adviser, and a Chartered Accountant with a Business Degree (Major in Finance & Accounting) from the University of Canterbury.
I work with people that want to get the best out of themselves, and want their financial life under control so that they can do the things that are important to them.
I get to have wide and varied conversations with my clients. I love working with people to help them define where they are heading, and what they need to do to get there. As part of this, I learn a lot about my clients and develop lifelong relationships. All of the advice I give is in the context of personal wellbeing, and how our financial, mental and physical states all link to achieve happiness in our lives.
My professional objectives are to provide high quality financial and business advice to business owners, and families to support their overall wellbeing, health and happiness.
My background, working as a Chartered Accountant internationally, provides me a unique position to analyse my clients financial picture and provide them valuable advice in plain English. I have expertise in understanding the link between businesses and family life and helping you to identify what’s really important.
A particular area I am passionate about is making sure businesses and their owners have plans in place to ensure wealth can transfer effectively, and the business can carry on trading or be wound up efficiently in the event of something happening to one of the owners. Linked with this is the intricacies of ACC and making sure this will work properly for a self-employed person if they need it.
Outside of work, I’m married to Kristy, and we have a daughter, Pia, and I love getting out in the large playground called Canterbury whenever I can – whether that be on foot, by bike, swimming in the beautiful bays/lakes or getting out on the river in a kayak.
